had enough to eat yet?

Chances are, you have, but the refrigerator is still stocked with Christmas and Boxing Day leftovers – ones you felt happy to indulge in on the days, but now wish to distance yourself from. Trouble is, it’s silly to waste perfectly good food.

Welcome back – I hope you have been having a wonderful holiday so far. I’ve been out and about, eating at lots of lovely restaurants; the feasting continues at Wild Honey tonight. But I must say, I’m looking forward to January, although I shall miss the family gatherings and the ample amounts of blue cheese I’ve been consuming.

In a few days, it will be time to start afresh.

Now, New Year’s resolutions are often a load of…well, you know, but I’m a fan of the “new year, fresh start” approach. New research out today about resolutions offer tips for both men and women on how best to tackle new goals.

Once New Year’s Eve is well and truly out of the way, it’s back to the usual way of doing things – not eating out as much (saving calories and money), eating lots and lots of vegetables (January’s great at vegetables), and cutting out foods high in saturated fats and sugars.

It’s not as bad as it sounds. While brainstorming healthy 2008 dinners, I’ve come up with thirteen wonderful, mouth-watering ideas. And that’s just in the first hour.

So polish off the rest of that stilton, the last of the trifle, and enjoy it while you do. We’ll get back on track very soon.

Thanks for the timely post. I also am a fan of the new year, new beginnings approach. Over the years I have become better able to set realistic goals for myself snd meet them - yeah!
