summertime, stateside: grilled potatoes and goats cheese

My dad sent me this Bobby Flay recipe just a couple of days ago. It looks great, doesn't it? Oozy goats cheese, fresh, savoury basil and good ol' reliable potatoes.

Two potential problems:

1) It's grilled. Not oven-grilled. Grilled-grilled. Luckily, I think we can 'British-style grill' it, which Americans call 'broiling'. (If not, there's always that one sunny afternoon when outdoor grilling is actually an option)

2) Conversions. sometimes, even now, it gets a little lost in translation for me too. When I'm in the US, I want ounces and cups. When I'm in the UK, I want grams and pints.

But I think I'm going to give it a go anyway. I'll cut down on the olive oil, though - it calls for 6 oz (which is about 175 ml). It also calls for about 8 oz of goats cheese (around 225 g), though it appears to serve four, so that might not be all that bad.

One last thought - this might be even tastier with sweet potatoes.

What do you think - a possible BBQ winner? Or just a night at home even?

Omg Yum! Your blog is awesome, lots of great ideas and great links like this one. If the bar-b-que I was going to tomorrow was my own, these would be the potatoes I would serve.
